Our Story

In 2015, we saw an opportunity to combine our love for adventure and design in a new type of outdoor gear. Whether you’re discovering new corners of your city or new corners of the planet, we now use our tech to enhance and simplify the adventure experience. Lander was created to seamlessly bridge the gap between traditional adventure gear and the technology we use every day. We work to develop tested and proven gear for a new generation of explorers, we call this Gear Made Modern®.

Expedition Grade is a standard we hold ourselves to when creating our products. It is the result of our specific design process with extensive testing, above and beyond industry standards. After we go through all the testing, we take our products out into the field and use them the way you will be using them.

LAB TESTING

Each product we make has to go through a benchmark testing process to ensure its quality. We use third-party testing labs for drop testing, material strength and durability, electrical certifications, and waterproofing.

FIELD TESTING

Before our products go to production, we take them out on our own adventures to see if they have the right feature set and will work when it counts. We send our products to our ambassadors all over the world for testing and real-time feedback.

Our gear is made with the future in mind. To create our unique blend of outdoor and technology in our products we use materials that sit at the apex of quality and technological advancement. We call this idea “Modern Craft” and stand not only by our expedition-grade testing, but a commitment to use the best and most current materials in our gear.

ANODIZED ALUMINUM

We use grade 6061 anodized aluminum in all our lighting gear for ideal hardness and quality.

REFLECTIVE SHOCK CORD

Made of durable elastic threading, this shock cord provides night find-ability and a durable tethering solution.

INJECTION-MOLDED TPU (URETHANE)

This durable, self-healing, speckled material provides maximum-impact protection and water resistance.

POLYCARBONATE ANCHOR PATCH

Rigid and durable molded material designed to anchor your phone to safety, no matter what.

INTEGRATED SPECKLED URETHANE

This durable, self-healing, speckled material provides maximum-impact protection, water resistance, and added grip-ability.

THERMOLINE®

A layered technology we developed specifically for our cases which utilizes proprietary materials to help regulate extreme temperatures.

CORDURA ECOMADE®

A water-resistant, lightweight, and tear-resistant recycled material made by Cordura.

TPU-COATED RIPSTOP

Waterproof, rip-preventative material—providing protection from impact, water, and tears.

EVA FOAM

Provides protection from impact, comfort and water ingress during activity.

DURABLE NYLON STRAP

Tough, woven nylon with water-resistant coating ensures your watch strap is built to last.
